My story is one of honor, antidotal love, and family adulation,
but didn’t begin with glory and instant gratification.
Mother and fathers created the path,
for sustained, and endless miles of opportunity.
Therefore, I tell the youth to never rest on their laurels,
turn one favorable situation into the form of plurals.
I’m spiritually motivated and nutritionally intoxicated,
leading the charge as the 22nd Rebel Soul
of cultural revolutions from Robert Nesta Marley scrolls.
Don’t gain the world and lose your soul;
wisdom is far greater than silver or gold.
Or reciting axioms from Siddhartha Gautama the Buddha
To gain anything, you must first lose everything,
as I walk the Kingdom fiercer than the Lion of Judah.
I excite the physical frame to sustain lasting energy,
which ignites the flame.
I tame the mind through yoga and meditation,
while transporting my soul to interesting places,
like the hills of Jamaica to build with Rastas,
South Africa where Mandela walked the road of nobility,
villages of Mumbai, Phuket, Bali speaking with the people,
learning the customs and developing folkloric solidarity.
I explore the globe on foot trekking distance miles
while capturing laughs and smiles,
from inhabitants of indigenous lands
that recall my days as a child
in the desperation of Camden, New Jersey —
here is where life was hard as nails
and safety as scarce as animals in slaughterhouses.
I’m a businessman by appearance;
instinctually a nomad leapfrogging internationally
just toting a backpack,
and instead, choose a bike or kicks to get around over a cab.
Some say it’s hazardous exploring foreign habitats,
neighborhoods of newfangled cities,
without the guidance of local aristocrats.
I say it’s life; life is for the living.
The people are starving from educational deprivation,
but mother didn’t settle for anything less,
working incessantly like the locomotive of a train,
pushing, moving, and motivating until God’s plan was ascertained.
Now my two daughters Mikaiya and Kaiyana procreated from Misako
have instilled me with tenfold the strength of gorillas in the mist.
It’s the rhythm of streams that encapsulates our desires and dreams.
Hard work deserves relaxing rewards is written on my vision board.
It’s quite elemental.
Humans engage in activities, patterns, and behaviors to stimulate the mental.
For that reason, change must begin with the reprogramming of the mind
so cognitive thinking parallels the intended action.
How can you strive for a positive future
if you keep dwelling on a negative past?
Convention and conformity or cognitive dissonance?
Wisely chose your position and welcome dignity in the face of ignorance.
Refrain from deeds that support damaging behavior,
while gallivanting like a spiritual savior.
Universal law will prevail over all,
with an uplifted conscious built around glory.
So live, love, experience, and go tell your story!
