Mentoring young men has been my most evolutionary fulfillment in life. Passing down the knowledge inherited from educational heroes, dads, influential gurus, and father figures strengthens our communities while guiding these students toward positive pathways. Some will deviate, but most will utilize the wisdom and experiences to enhance their goals and objectives. Plus, I don’t mind beating them every now and then at their own game, whether it’s basketball or arm wrestling. Even at 50, this Vegan Cyborg doesn’t go down easily.
Two of my most devoted mentees are Amede Vital and Nyamusa Njoka. Both have roots in Africa and are prospering in America because they are hungry and eager to reach their full potential. They play collegiate football, study cybersecurity, respect their parents, adhere to societal protocols, and possess a strong work ethic. Being “proud” is an understatement.
I’m looking forward to watching them evolve while contributing to humanity. Please continue dedicating time to our youth because they need the support of mentors and father figures more than you can imagine. Especially in America!
