Vacation Fitness in Jamaica

Experienced by Kimatni Rawlins

As I always say, vacations are to rest the mind, not the body. Actually, you have more time to exercise when on holiday, so there should be no excuses. Yes, even in Jamaica! Thus, I headed out for an inspiring 5-mile run from Riu Mobay to Hip Strip while exploring local life. A few things I experienced on my energizing trek:

  • Boosted my metabolism and burned enough calories for two days.
  • Discovered new sites I hadn’t seen before.
  • Ran into an iTal (vegan) restaurant and had an intellectual conversation with the Ras owner and head chef.
  • Waved at every person I ran by while exchanging pleasantries.
  • Met a sweet woman who chopped up a coconut to replenish my electrolytes.
  • Maintained appreciation for the life I live, including the freedom to travel and connect with cultures worldwide.

Once the daily exercise is complete, you can chill, grub, and lie back on the river. Remember, eat clean, breathe deep, and keep moving, people. One Love!
